Soil comes in many blends and brands that meet the needs of different growers with different crops. Organic potting soil such as Fox Farm (Ocean Forest, Happy Frog & Strawberry Fields) and Roots Organics (Formula 707, Original & GreenFields) have been staples for soil growers for many years. These mixtures feature tons of organic amendments and micro life including but not limited to mychorrazae, bat guano & seabird guano, worm castings, crab meal, oyster shell, crab meal, shrimp meal, earthworm castings, fish meal and fish emulsion, bone meal, blood meal, amino acids, cottonseed meal, fish powder, humic acid & fulvic acids, neem seed meal, greensand, dolomite lime, kelp meal, langbeinite, soybean meal, alfalfa meal, azomite, diatomaceous earth and dozens of other naturally occurring nutrient rich ingredients. Many soils use peat moss, perlite, vermiculite, hydroton, rocks, mulch to change air to moisture ratios one way or another. Organic sources of potassium, nitrogen, phosphorous, calcium, magnesium, iron, boron, molybdenum, enzymes and silica are used in many of these soil mixtures rather than synthetic minerals. When growing with true living organics and inoculating with beneficial bacteria it is essential that growers use organic soil as a base.
